What is the Pacific Northwest ASCE Student Symposium?<\/h2>\n

The Pacific Northwest ASCE Student Symposium is one of many regional student symposia held annually as an opportunity for ASCE student chapters in their respective regions to showcase their skills and achievements by designing, building, and\/or competing in various civil engineering activities.<\/p>\n

Symposia take place in the spring and include competitions, professional and personal development opportunities, networking, and of course fun, as a celebration of civil engineering and the ASCE community.<\/p>\n

The Pacific Northwest region (PNW) comprises of 19 universities from Alaska, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. This year, the PNW ASCE Student Symposium will be hosted by the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, with over 200 students expected in attendance! Who can attend?<\/h2>\n

All are welcome to register for the 2022 Pacific Northwest Student Symposium. Students who will be competing in Society-wide Competitions must meet eligibility requirements as detailed by ASCE:\u00a0https:\/\/www.asce.org\/communities\/student-members\/conferences\/eligibility<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

What is ASCE?<\/h3>\n

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)\u00a0<\/strong>is an engineering society devoted to advancing\u00a0technologies, encouraging\u00a0lifelong learning, promoting\u00a0professionalism and the civil engineering profession, developing\u00a0civil engineering leaders, and advocating\u00a0infrastructure and environmental stewardship.<\/p>\n

What is AISC?<\/h3>\n

“The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC)<\/strong>, headquartered in Chicago, is a non-partisan, not-for-profit technical institute and trade association established in 1921 to serve the structural steel design community and construction industry in the United States. AISC’s mission is to make structural steel the material of choice by being the leader in structural-steel-related technical and market-building activities, including specification and code development, research, education, technical assistance, quality certification, standardization, market development, and advocacy.
