University of North Carolina at Charlotte

ASCE is the first and oldest national engineering society, founded in 1852. National membership exceeds 144,000, with over 15,000 being student members. National membership is free to students which allows access to all technical content ASCE offers, this is an amazing opportunity considering ASCE is the world’s largest publisher of civil engineering technical content! As a student chapter, our goal is to facilitate interaction between students, faculty, and practicing engineers. Additionally, we sponsor intercollegiate competitions, community outreach, and society social events. The UNC Charlotte chapter hosts guest speakers from industry and government at meetings held throughout the semester. We strongly encourage all civil engineering students to participate in the many events that ASCE hosts!

The purpose of our chapter is to work together as engineering students for common goals. These goals are modeled after the National ASCE Chapter and include upholding a common view of making society a better place through the continual improvement of transportation, environmental, geotechnical and structural advancements.
