About the Host

Welcome to Utah State University’s ASCE Student Chapter!

Situated in the heart of Cache Valley Utah, Utah State University boasts one of the premier engineering programs in the region. Our ASCE chapter is an active community with over 40 members, constituting approximately 20% of Civil and Environmental Engineering Program students.

At the 2023 Intermountain Southwest Symposium (ISWS) in Reno, Nevada, our chapter excelled in seven technical events, securing within the top three positions across the board. Notably, we earned 1st place in Surveying and Timber Strong, 2nd place in Concrete Canoe, and 3rd place in Steel Bridge, among other achievements. Additionally, our surveying team secured 2nd place at the 2023 ASCE Civil Engineering Student Championships. While at the 2022 ISWS in Las Vegas, Nevada, our chapter secured 1st place in Steel Bridge, Surveying, and Environmental Design.

Building on our success, we bounced back from the impact of COVID-19, which significantly affected our club and its institutional knowledge. Despite the setbacks, we have implemented regular activities to foster a sense of community among our members, providing them with opportunities for technical growth and career preparation.

Our mission is clear: to provide essential value to our members and partners, advance civil engineering, and serve the public good.

Founded in 1888 as a Land Grant College, Utah State University has evolved into a Research University. To explore more about our university’s rich history and traditions, visit our History and Traditions page: USU History and Traditions.
